EXCLUSIVE: Warner Bros has landed What’s Going On, a biopic of iconic soul singer Marvin Gaye that Allen Hughes will direct, and produce with Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine and Andrew Lazar.

Sexual Healing: Directed by Julien Temple. With S. Epatha Merkerson, Clarke Peters, Vicky Krieps, Jesse L. Martin. The film focuses on the later years of Marvin Gaye as he lived in Europe, putting his past drug abuse behind him and wrote his hit song Sexual Healing, along with promoter Freddy Cousaert.

After a number of failed efforts to get a Marvin Gaye biopic off the ground, the legendary singer's life is set to be chronicled in What's Going On.

Written by poet Marcus Gardley, the film is described as a "musical odyssey" focusing on “the life of one of America’s greatest singers and musicians”. The film will feature the story of his past with events that helped shape his legendary final tour.
